Message from Jen and Ceremony
Have you noticed the sun rising earlier in the east as spring nears?
The morning sun illuminates and brings forth the birth of a new day and new possibilities. The sun warms the earth, feeds the plants and moves the seasons. In shamanism, the sun symbolizes illumination, enlightenment, passion, the birth of new life, new beginnings and the fires of life. The sun represents the element of fire and fire represents our spirit. Fire can teach about keeping our spirit alive and expansive through doing what we love, creativity and spending time with people we care for.

Book: Dreaming of Cupcakes: A Food Addict’s Shamanic Journey into Healing
Author: Jennifer Engrácio
Desiring to support others in their recovery, Engrácio uses journal entries to document her process. In addition to chronicling her progression from food addict to recovering addict, this book shows Engrácio utilizing the shamanic medicine traditions she was trained in, her inner resources and her community of support to heal.
“This book appeals to anyone who wants to know more about how to heal from addictions utilizing a wholistic, shamanic medicine approach, balancing body, mind, spirit, heart and life force energy in the process.”
An excerpt from “Dreaming of Cupcakes”:
Much of the pain of the human condition is caused by our lack of awareness and ability to direct our attention. This takes lots of practice and mentors who know how to teach these methods with skill and care. Many of these traditions have been lost and many have been revived.
Available at Amazon, Chapters, Goodreads, and Barnes & Noble

“Going Shamanic” Radio Show
“Going Shamanic” is hosted by Jennifer Engracio on P.A.G.E. Media Project’s blogtalk radio each month.
This month, we talked to Carell Mehl and Jennifer Engracio about Women’s Power Stories.
“Loving ourselves through the process of owning our story is the greatest thing you’ll ever do.”
~ Brené Brown
Today we welcome two women who have ‘dared greatly’ and recently published an incredible book describing why women’s power stories are so important in our world.
Each month, there are various shamanic ceremonies and events happening in the local Calgary area and elsewhere in Canada. Though not offered by Spiral Dance Shamanics, these are all highly recommended to those wanting to experience shamanism. These events are open to all adults and no previous experience is necessary.
